Paolo Gambarelli is an architect who graduated in 1990 from IUAV – Venice, where he carried out teaching and research activities. In 1998 he received his PhD. Since 1991 he has been professionally active in Venice, Berlin and Pesaro where he has worked on projects for public authority. In 2018 he founded Lunante and dedicated himself to the creation of jewelery and related figurative research.

Lunante draws constant inspiration from the knowledge acquired in the architectural field and from an innate propensity and profound love for all manual activities. The design, creation and presentation of these jewels are to be considered as one of the many possible expressions of my training. Each jewel must therefore be considered as a constant transcription and semantic rereading of the forms and concepts of our daily experience. I use geometry as a metalanguage that is sometimes serious, sometimes amused, intelligent or silly, as it would be beautiful if the lives of all human beings.
The name Lunante indicates a different perspective, a new way of working with curiosity to search for new expressive forms while remaining within the links and peculiarities of wearable art. In the awareness of an evolution made up of historical courses and recurrences, my jewels must be considered as pre-minimalist: the expressive force of the geometric composition alone still resists the total simplicity and reduction of the number of materials used.
